Nam June Paik artworks and editions

Nam June Paik is considered a pioneer of video art. Especially his complex installation of television screens arranged as sculptures or connected to video cameras in the showroom are famous. Nam June Paik’s artworks and editions reflect television as a medium critically and very openly.

Besides his visual affinity to technology, Nam June Paik’s art also contains electronic music as a further element. These multi-media installations are confronted with a very reduced style, in which Nam June Paik designs rudimentary objects with minimal instruments. This aspect of his work is less known, but belongs to Nam June Paik’s art inseparably as the opposite position to process-driven installation art.
